Disney Announces FROZEN 10 Anniversary Celebration

Today the Walt Disney Company issued a press release announcing the beginning of a 10 week celebration leading up to Frozen’s 10th anniversary on November 27, 2023. The celebration is called “Frozen 10” and the official artwork can be found above.

The press release explains, “In honor of the film’s 10th anniversary, Disney is launching a 10-week countdown celebration with collaborations across the company. From Disney Parks and consumer products to music and community outreach, the Frozen fun is crystalizing in new and exciting ways. Over the next 10 weeks, fans of the film will enjoy surprise and delight announcements, content, and more.” A link to their press release can be found by clicking HERE.

The first big announcement came last month with a new FROZEN podcast called “Forces of Nature” was revealed. This podcast will debut October 11th and features 12 episodes. Assuming each episode is released weekly, the pod should run through the actual anniversary. I detailed everything we know about that podcast and speculated on a few things – including how it might tie into FROZEN 3. That blog is available by CLICKING HERE.

Disney then released a FROZEN video celebrating the generations of fans that have made this franchise so beloved in the Disney community. The awesome piece can be seen below:

Also announced a few weeks ago at Destination D23 was the opening of “World of Frozen” at Hong Kong Disneyland on November 20. Disney reiterates the big opening in the press release by saying, “On November 20, 2023, the World of Frozen is opening up their gates and sharing the wonder of Frozen with guests at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. This first Frozen-themed land will extend the storytelling of the films as guests are invited to a Summer Snow Day celebration in Arendelle commemorating the day that Anna saved Elsa with an act of true love.” This is the first immersive land at a Disney Park built around the characters and locations of Frozen and will include a clone of EPCOT’s Frozen Ever After flume ride as well as a new family roller coaster called “Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs” and a fantastic recreation of Arendelle’s castle, surrounding village, and even Elsa’s castle perched above it all.

I’m so excited for this celebration. So what do you think some of these announcements could be? I really hope some involve new FROZEN merchandise in the Disney Store. It has been over a year since Disney released Brittney Lee’s Frozen-themed line of apparel and homewares. It would also be great if we got some kind of remastered version of the soundtrack with outtakes or integrating versions of the FROZEN songbook that has been heard across Disney parks and on Broadway.

But the biggest announcement would clearly be FROZEN 3. Yes Bob Iger has already let it slip on an investor call that the three-quel is in development. But an official announcement might include things like a release date and even talent involved (really hope Jennifer Lee is coming back in some capacity even though she is currently running Walt Disney Animation), and maybe even a teaser poster (I know, wishful thinking).

Let me know what you think. What are some of your predictions? Are you excited about FROZEN 10?
